Himalayan Tripsters is a locally-owned trekking company based in Himachal Pradesh with over 46 years of experience in organizing safe and memorable Himalayan treks. We own and operate Grahan Shyam Home Stay in Grahan Village, providing authentic local experiences.

1. Booking & Payment Terms

Advance Booking Payment

A non-refundable advance of ₹2,000 per person is required to confirm your booking. This secures your spot on the trek.

Full Payment

The remaining amount must be paid at least 7 days before the trek start date. Failure to complete payment may result in booking cancellation.

Payment Methods

We accept bank transfers, UPI, and cash payments. Payment details will be shared after booking confirmation.

Price Inclusions

Trek prices include accommodation, meals (as per itinerary), guide services, permits, and basic first aid. See detailed inclusions for each trek.

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation Charges:

  • • 30+ days before trek:₹2,000 advance forfeited, rest refunded
  • • 15-29 days before:50% of total amount deducted
  • • 7-14 days before:75% of total amount deducted
  • • Less than 7 days:No refund

Weather Cancellations

If we cancel the trek due to extreme weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions, you'll receive a full refund or credit for a future trek.

Personal Emergency

In case of medical emergencies with valid documentation, we'll work with you on a case-by-case basis for partial refunds or rescheduling.

3. Participant Eligibility & Health

Age Requirements

Participants must be between 12-65 years old. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Health Declaration

You must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or medications before the trek. Medical certificates required for participants above 60 years.

Medical Conditions (Restricted)

Participants with serious heart conditions, severe asthma, epilepsy, or pregnancy cannot join high-altitude treks without medical clearance.

Fitness Requirements

You must be able to walk 5-6 km daily with a backpack. We recommend regular cardio exercise 3-4 weeks before the trek.

4. Trek Conduct & Responsibilities

Prohibited Activities

Alcohol consumption, smoking, drugs, and littering are strictly prohibited during treks. Violation may result in immediate expulsion without refund.

Guide Authority

Trek leaders have final authority on all trek-related decisions including route changes, schedule adjustments, and safety protocols. Their instructions must be followed.

Environmental Responsibility

Follow 'Leave No Trace' principles. Carry all waste back. Respect local culture and traditions. Do not disturb wildlife.

Group Discipline

Never trek alone or leave the group without informing the trek leader. Maintain punctuality for departures and meals.

5. Liability & Risk Acceptance

⚠️ Important: Assumption of Risk

Trekking in the Himalayas involves inherent risks including altitude sickness, extreme weather, difficult terrain, and natural hazards. By booking, you acknowledge these risks and confirm you are physically and mentally prepared.

Our Safety Commitment

We provide experienced guides, safety equipment, emergency protocols, and 24/7 support. However, we cannot eliminate all risks inherent in mountain trekking.

Personal Responsibility

You are responsible for your personal belongings, following safety guidelines, and disclosing health information. We're not liable for losses due to negligence.

Insurance Recommendation

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering high-altitude trekking, evacuation, and trip cancellation.

Force Majeure

We're not liable for delays, cancellations, or changes due to weather, natural disasters, government actions, or other events beyond our control.

6. Itinerary Changes

Right to Modify

We reserve the right to modify trek itineraries, routes, or schedules for safety reasons, weather conditions, or operational requirements.

No Additional Charges

Itinerary changes for safety or weather won't incur additional charges unless they result in extra services being provided.

Alternative Arrangements

If major changes are necessary, we'll provide the best possible alternatives to ensure you still have a memorable experience.

7. Photography & Marketing

Photo/Video Rights

By participating, you grant us permission to use photos/videos taken during the trek for marketing purposes on our website and social media.

Opt-Out Option

If you don't want your images used, please inform us in writing before or during the trek.

Complaint Resolution

Any complaints should be raised immediately with the trek leader during the trek, or within 7 days after trek completion.

Jurisdiction

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.
